LEGO Star Wars 75331 The Razor Crest: Is This $600 Set Worth the Bounty?
The LEGO Star Wars 75331 The Razor Crest hit shelves in late 2022, and it made a big splash. This Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set recreates the iconic ship from The Mandalorian Disney+ series. With a hefty $600 price tag, is this set worth the credits? We'll break down the set's features, minifigures, and overall value to help you decide if you should add it to your collection. Or if you're looking to boost your current collection, check out Bricklume's LEGO Light Kits.

A UCS Set From a Galaxy Far, Far Away... That Isn't a Movie
What makes LEGO 75331 special? It's the first UCS set not based on a Star Wars movie! Instead, it takes its inspiration from the hit Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. The set includes 6,187 pieces, making it a substantial build. LEGO designed it for adult collectors.
What Does $600 Get You?
You get more than just plastic bricks for your money. The set includes four minifigures. Three of these were exclusive to the set when it was released. The box shows the Razor Crest landed. It also shows a comparison between the LEGO set and the ship in the show. Be warned: this set is heavy! It's a real brick of a build.

Unboxing The Razor Crest: A Mandalorian Adventure
The unboxing experience is what you'd expect from a LEGO Star Wars UCS set, but with a Mandalorian twist. The set comes in two boxes, labeled "1" and "2." Box one features concept art of Grogu and the Mandalorian with the Razor Crest. Box two also has cool concept art. The box design is much nicer than plain white boxes.
Instruction Manual Woes
Here's a snag: The instruction manuals have poorly rendered visuals. This feels inconsistent with the high-quality box art. Shouldn't the instructions match the overall premium experience?
Minifigure Lineup: The Mando and More
Let's meet the minifigures included in the set. You get:
- The Mandalorian
- Grogu
- The Mythrol
- Kuiil
One minifigure is fantastic, one is cute, and one may leave you wanting more. One even comes with a buildable creature.
The Mandalorian: Season 1 Armor, Upgraded
This Mandalorian minifigure sports his Season 1 armor. The torso, leg, and waist printing are similar to the original 2019 figure. However, this version boasts arm printing and a brand-new helmet design. The new helmet has a small ridge on top, plus a line above the visor. It also features better cheek details. This new helmet seems to fix visor printing issues on earlier Beskar Mando figures. Underneath the helmet, he has a face print with a hairpiece. He first showed his face in the Mando's N1 Starfighter set.
The upgraded helmet and arm printing make this minifigure a must-have.
Grogu in His Pram: Too Cute to Handle
Of course, the set includes Grogu in his pram. This is the second LEGO Star Wars pram build. The first was in an Advent calendar. This pram has the right colors. And the Grogu figure is as adorable as ever.
Grogu is always a welcome addition to any Mandalorian LEGO set.
The Mythrol: A Disappointing Design?
The Mythrol minifigure might be the set's weakest link. He could have used a specially molded or sculpted head. Using a standard LEGO head with just a print doesn't capture the character's unique look. While this works for some characters, the Mythrol deserved more.
Maybe LEGO will give us a better version in the future.
The lack of a unique head mold makes this minifigure feel generic.
Kuiil and the Blurrg: I Have Spoken
Kuiil is a step up from the Mythrol, thanks to his specially molded head. Some fans feel the head looks a little long. Still, it's a solid figure with a good torso print and a backpack.
Kuiil also comes with a Blurrg. The Blurrg feels like a microfighter build. The brick and sticker in the middle don't look great. But the eye prints look good! The teeth look a bit weird. The tail and head can move thanks to ball joints. Kuiil can sit on the Blurrg's back.
Kuiil has a specialized head piece. He adds an important character to the minifigure collection from The Mandalorian.
Display Stand and Plaque: A Sticker Stumble
The set includes a display stand and plaque. Here's the bad news: the plaque uses a sticker. LEGO designers have said future plaques would be printed. So, a sticker on a $600 premium UCS set feels like a cheap move. The stand does have space for the minifigures and the Blurrg.
Missing Minifigures: Who Else Should Be Here?
Four minifigures is good, but some key characters are missing. Migs Mayfeld would have been a great addition. Who else would you like to see included in this set?
The Razor Crest: A Big Ship
The UCS Razor Crest is a big model. It will take up a good chunk of your display space. You'll need a large area to show it off. It doesn't come with a flying stand. It sits on non-retractable landing gear. The landing gear is sturdy, and the doors open when it's down.
External Details: Mostly Impressive
The external details are mostly impressive. Some sections use stickers that don't quite match the gray color of the bricks. This color difference is distracting. For a $600 set, this isn't ideal. LEGO should have used matching colors or printed the details.
The model is nicely tiled. Some studs peek through here and there.
Drum Lacquered Silver: A Missed Opportunity?
Imagine this set in drum lacquered silver. The ship is metallic silver in The Mandalorian. This would have been the most accurate look. It would have added to the cost. But it would have been amazing.
Engines: Big and Bold
The engines are huge! They are nicely tiled off. The exhaust area uses a dark tan color. Smaller Razor Crest models use dark gray. The color seems to vary based on the source material. The dark tan adds a bit of color. Translucent orange represents the engine thrust.
Gray Model
The model is mostly gray. This is typical for LEGO Star Wars sets.
Front Cannons and Escape Pod
The main cannons look great! They use stickers for added detail. The stickers blend in well. The escape pod can be removed. It has small engines. You can pull off the top panel. There's room for a minifigure inside. The escape pod has a clear panel. This lets you see the minifigure's face.
Loading Ramp and Walkway: Cool Features
The back of the ship has a loading ramp. It lowers down to provide access. It's a bit steep, though.
The walkway ramp adds detail. You can place Grogu at the top. This makes for a cool display. It's hidden when not in use.
Windshield: A Design Miss
The windshield isn't flush. The panels don't line up perfectly. This creates weird ridges. It's noticeable in person. The $140 version does it better.
Cockpit: Open it Up
Accessing the cockpit is easy. Just pull it off! It's not actually connected. It's slightly loose. Some panels are a bit wobbly. This isn't a big deal for a display set.
The cockpit looks great. It's nicely curved. It has no weird colors. The inside has a control panel. There are lots of control panels around the seats. There are three seats at the front. Two are standard LEGO seats. One is a special seat for Din Djarin. It can turn and has a movable back. The seating is a dark red color that really pops.
Looking back, there's an archway and a door. There are also studs to stand figures. There's a small clip for Mando's blaster and a spot for Grogu's pram.
Cabin Interior: Details Inside
The entire cockpit section can be removed. Below, you'll find a ladder, walkway, and Mando's bed. The bed can be pulled out. There's some wiring underneath. Getting him back to rest is easy.
To access the interior, you have to remove panels. The engines are loosely connected. You can take off the back and front panels. This gives you full access.
Inside, you'll find crates. One has blue cookies. The other has Imperial logos and contains thermal detonators.
Weapons Cabinet and Carbon Freezing Chamber
The set includes a weapons cabinet. The top has a sticker that says "baby on board" with Grogu's head. The weapons cabinet can be removed. You can open both doors. There are five LEGO weapons inside.
Across from the weapons cabinet is the carbon freezing chamber. It has other characters frozen in carbonite. These can be removed. The carbonite pieces look great. You can freeze the Mythrol in carbonite, too.
Boba Fett's Armor: Almost Right
The set includes Boba Fett's armor. It uses the right sand green color. This is before he repainted it. However, it's not 100% correct. The armor should look more worn.
Staging Area and Lifting the Model
The final section is a staging area for the Blurrg. There's a hole to put Kuiil. You can put the panel back on top. To pick up the set, grab it underneath. Follow the instructions carefully. It's a heavy model, so be careful.
Is LEGO Pricing Fans Out of the Market?
This set begs the question: Is LEGO pricing fans out? $600 for a Star Wars set used to be unheard of. Now, it's becoming more common.
For something new, and not as iconic as the Millennium Falcon, it feels odd. But you get a lot for your money. It's detailed, large, and eye-catching. It includes cool exclusive minifigures.
However, a $600 set should have a printed plaque. Smaller sets get printed parts. Collectors want printed parts.
There are smaller versions of the Razor Crest available, like the $140 version.
The UCS gunship is $200 cheaper. Is it worth buying a LEGO 75311 Light Kit, or investing in a high end LEGO product? For $600, you're getting a lot of value, even though it's expensive. You can customize your LEGO with Star Wars LEGO light kits or LEGO Light Kits from Bricklume today.
Final Thoughts: A Worthy Set
This is a great set! It's the first TV/non-movie-based LEGO Star Wars UCS set. I hope there are more like it in the future. What do you think? Will you be buying this set?
Overall Score
$600 isn't overpriced for what you get. There is a cheaper alternative.
It gets a 9.5 out of 10.
